About Matthew
Matthew Hamamjy is a student-athlete who’s path led him to junior college where he earned his Associate’s degree in just one year rather than two. He also set his sights on earning his Bachelor’s degree in just a year as well, following which he took some time off and headed for his Master’s degree in, you guessed it, just one year. He graduated magna cum laude, worked while he was in college, and was a 2-sport collegiate athlete.
Passionate about athletics, Matthew became a black belt in Tae Kwon Do at the age of ten years old, began wrestling in middle school, and has been fighting in various disciplines ever since. Following in the footsteps of his older brother Thomas who is also a competitor and coach, Matthew spring-boarded from wrestling in high school to more challenging endeavors such as mixed martial arts, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, and other combat sports. At the age of 18, Matthew headed to college for a wrestling career, which is when he saw further ahead on how to capitalize on his skills and abilities. He then headed to the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA,) one of the biggest MMA gyms in the world.
Bringing all of his experience from the fighting world and the academic world to everything he does, Hamamjy is the perfect coach to help you set your priorities right and build your character to become a force for change in the world. Using the lessons he learned from his coaches, mentors, and the successful people he has spoken to, he developed his book TKO to 4.0 – A Fighter’s Approach to Life, School and Overall Success. In his book, Matthew Hamamjy will encapsulate all the valuable teachings of wrestlers, fighters, coaches, professors, and entrepreneurs so that you hear it from the very best.
